Mrs. Shawna Zimmerman
I am entering my 8th year teaching and my first here at Brownsburg East Middle School. I have moved several times over the last nine years with my husband and family for his work. Each experience I have had has been wonderful, and I look forward to another great year. I began my career at Hilliard Tharp 6th grade as a Title I teaching assistant. I then moved with my husband to South Dakota where he began his HR career. I worked at Mitchell Middle School as a 6th grade Science and Language Arts teacher in Mitchell, SD. We then moved four years later back to Ohio, where we are from, and I taught for Canton City Schools as a Title I Reading and Math teacher K-8. We recently moved again to Indiana in January, and I am excited to continue my teaching career.
My husband and I have two little girls, a dog, and a cat. I enjoy running, and have recently began racing for fun. I ran my first half marathon this spring at the Indi 500. I look forward to my second half marathon in November at the Monumental Half Marathon. I also enjoy spending time with my family and reading.
